Three Generations, One Passion: Our Handmade Homestead Story

Three Generations, One Passion: Our Handmade Homestead Story

At The Farm Stand on Russell Road, every jar of jam, every loaf of sourdough, and even every pup-approved dog treat carries a piece of our family’s heart—woven together by three generations of strong, creative women devoted to handmade goodness and the beauty of slow, simple living.

My journey began as a little girl, helping my mother prepare for vendor events—carrying baskets of ingredients, arranging her jars of jams, jellies, pickles, relishes, mustards, fudge, rhubarb pies, and her unforgettable cheesecakes. Her kitchen was a space of magic, and watching her work instilled in me a deep love for handmade artistry, the kind that can’t be rushed and is always crafted with care.

Today, it’s a privilege and an honor to not only carry on her recipes and specialties, but to display them proudly at our own stand. Even more meaningful is the chance to recreate those same childhood memories—curating ingredients from our gardens or local orchards—with my mother and both of my daughters by my side. It’s a full-circle moment I cherish more than words can say.

And now, the next generation is finding her place in this legacy. My daughter has discovered her own joy in sourdough baking—specifically, creating wholesome, homemade sourdough dog treats for our four-legged friends. Her hands, small but capable, knead love into every batch, and I see the spark of tradition being passed once again.

In a fast-paced world, we’ve chosen to root ourselves in something slower and more meaningful. Our growing homestead is not just a place—it’s a living story of love, legacy, and family. Every jar, every loaf, and every treat is made with intention and pride.

From our family to yours—thank you for being part of our journey, and for supporting three generations of women who believe in the power of homemade.
